About

Welcome!

Hi everyone, this is the blog that I started back in 2009. At first this site was simply a workout log that I used to track my weight-loss progress (I ended up losing more than 20lbs and kept it off for the past two years) as part of a competition at work. You can read about that experience here if you are interested.

Now I also use this site to post critical review of Hollywood celebrity workouts and diets. Too many people waste their time trying to follow a celebrity diet that was either made up by a publicist to promote a movie, or pushed by a scam trainer that has their client doing hours of old outdated exercises on a near starvation diet. Yes, Hollywood celebrities are just as likely as regular people to be taken in by fitness scams - if not more so – than regular people because their jobs and reputation depend on looking impossibly amazing every day.

When it comes to working out and losing weight, remember – no matter how crazy a diet is (say the “eat grass diet”)  – someone will always claim to have lost weight on it. Does that mean you should do it too? Not necessarily. Never forget there is a big difference between optimal (the best way) and possible (yes it will happen eventually.) You could try to lose 50lbs just by doing ab exercises – but you would have to do 250,000 crunches to burn every pound of fat. Its possible but not optimal.

The real truth of the matter is that once you know the right type of workout for your body, you should be spending less than an hour per day working out (and honestly, more like 30 minutes if you push really hard.) There are even inexpensive and workable diet options for people who don’t want to shop for, cook, and eat tons of tiny meals. They key is having the right information and staying up to date on exercise and nutrition science.

This is where I come in. I know you are busy and don’t have time to read every fitness blog, video, interview, and article out there. This is what I try to do for you. I pick what I think are the key concepts and problems out of the most popular celebrity workouts and diets and then break it down so you don’t have to.

Of course, I still post regular fitness and diet information as well. I hope you find this site useful.

Comments are welcome and I love to know what you think!

Thanks for visiting!

Amanda

Bakeries & MMA Fighting, love it.

I look forward to reading your blog. I’m into burning fat as well; so I can look closer to 14 when I’m 103.
