Many people want to know if there is a secret Hollywood “crash” diet than can help you lose fat fast in a matter of weeks. Many celebrities claim that all they do is juice fasts for a couple of day before big events in order to look particularly lean.
Don’t be followed by Hollywood juice cleanses.
Yes, many actresses use juice cleanses to drop 5-7lbs water weight in a matter of days, but honestly this is not healthy - as the constant intake of sugar (in the form of juice) without protein can really disturb your blood sugar levels an potentially make you very ill. While many Hollywood stars do follow these kinds of dangerous diets, those who train with quality trainers and nutritionist know of a better, safer way to get lean quickly.
This is how it works:

Thin and fit celebrities like Kate Middleton eat a moderate diet, and follow a moderate to strenuous workout program all year long. Then, when special events come up (weddings, photoshoots, etc) - put in an extra surge of effort 2-6 weeks ahead of time. This is what allows them to transform so quickly.
In order to realistically get in top shape in a matter of week, you must stay within 5-10lbs of your “ideal” body all year long. Otherwise, its just way to easy to underestimate how much time it really takes to get in shape (if you need to lose 20lbs, its safer to allow 3 months, not 6 weeks.)
So, if juice fasts don’t work – what does?

I recommend a protein sparing modified fast (as described in greater detail in Visual Impact for Women.) While you would not want to follow this kind of diet for an extended period of time – a two weeks is completely fine. If you want to repeat the diet, take one full week off first.
What you do:
- Breakfast: Low calorie protein shake (look for formulas that are 100 calories per 20g protein) or egg white scramble with broccoli, red peppers, and sliced mushrooms.
- Lunch: Baked skinless chicken breast on a bed of lettuce with cucumbers, red cherry tomatoes, and a squirt of lemon.
- Dinner: Chicken soup with spicy peppers, greens, herbs, salt and pepper.
Supplements: Multivitamin and Omega 3 fish oil every day.
Remember – you must cycle this diet as it is very low calorie. You can only do two weeks in a row. The week off is there for a reason. This is what prevents your metabolism from slowing. During your week off, make sure you eat a healthy reasonable amount – but do not make the mistake of overeating. This will ruin the results. Stay around 1600-1800 calories depending on your height and weight.
